The Gaseous Scholarship and
Bigotry of Judy Stein

Oxford Dictionary of World Religions, published by Oxford University Press, lists TM in its listing of defined religions. Judy steadfastly insists that TM is not a religion. Wishing to cast doubt on the scholarly authority of this work, she denied that the book was published by Oxford University Press and implied that it might have had a religious bias for listing TM as a religion:

"It might also be noted that Oxford is a specifically Christian publishing house (just in case anyone might have thought 'Oxford' referred to Oxford University Press.) And no, I'm not implying anything about Oxford's motivations in this connection."

When caught in this deceit with its bigoted innuendo, she explained that it was just a "mental fart." It was a mistake and it just slipped out, she said. It seems Judy has been consuming a lot of mental beans. This false and apparently bigoted characterization of the publisher of the Oxford Dictionary of World Religions was not unlike Judy's calling President and Mrs. Carter "Christian Fundamentalists" and "anti-TMers" in an effort to discount the Fellowship in Mental Health Journalism that the Carter Center awarded Andrew Skolnick.

This is also reminiscent of Judy's attempt to downgrade Harvard Magazine when she called it a "a glossy magazine sent to Harvard alums (not the official alumni magazine)." Harvard Magazine, the official alumni magazine of Harvard University, strongly disagrees with Judy Stein's statement. What the religion of the editors or publishers of Harvard Magazine is, Judy didn't say. It must not have been important.
