"The 'public' has no way of forming an opinion of my veracity other than by noting whether it's ever substantively challenged. Since it has not been, by you or anyone else over the span of the three years I've been posting voluminously to this newsgroup, I don't think there's anything I need to do other than speak the truth."

Lies, Lies, and More Lies

Judy Stein often makes little effort to hide her hypocrisy and self-contradictions. Here is an especially funny example from 1997

Judy Stein wrote:

What Judy fails to see is that most of her foul and angry tirades
don't need a rebuttal. They speak for themselves. They say
loudly and clearly that Judy Stein is a mean-spirited crackpot.
Most of the time, nothing I could add would make that clearer.
I save my comments for when I can add something, for example:

Judy recently posted:

> Notice that Andrew has never -- not once -- managed to
> document a lie from me.

She also posted this ad hominem slur:

> Andrew, are you still associate editor of the Journal of the
> American Medical Association?
> Just curious.
> Perhaps you should think about swearing off drinking altogether.
> There's a lot of research indicating that excessive drinking
> pickles the brain cells, as well as leading one to make a fool
> of oneself.*

And then posted:

> And if I were to extract all the unpleasant ad hominem comments
> made by your pal Andrew Skolnick -- including about people's
> personal lives, which is something I never do

Let's look at her first statement again:

> Notice that Andrew has never -- not once -- managed to
> document a lie from me
. All he's ever done is make the
> the accusation.

Actually, even here Judy's words speak for themselves.
I don't need to add a single comment.

* In a Jan. 22, 1995 post, Judy first began her defamatory ad hominem attacks accusing me of drunkenness when she wrote:

"Lately [Skolnick's 'incoherent posts'] sound, in fact, very much like the postings of an individual I encountered recently whose writing gradually deteriorated, becoming rambling and pointless and disorganized and wildly hostile, full of typos and grammatical errors and mangled syntax. It turned out they had been written through a deepening fog of booze. If you're sober when you write your posts, they're even more dismaying.

BTW, contrary to Judy's defamatory accusation, the only drinking problem I have is that I don't care much for drinking. It would help if I had a glass of wine every day to lower my cholesterol.

Like false accusations of criminal conduct or being infected with a dreaded, communicable disease, bogus charges of drunkenness have long been among the egregious allegations that courts consider actionable.
